My Fairy House

On the second day, I built a fairy house. The materials were very hard to find, but I eventually found them. It was really fun to do:

Art at Project Sprout

Since the project was originally for school, our class went to Project Sprout to do some projects. As I said before, I love to stack rocks, so that's what I did. Here are the pictures:

Andy Goldsworthy and my At-Home Project

As a class, we watched a video on Andy Goldsworthy called Rivers and Tides. Even though this was a class assignment, I was really inspired by him. I love how he gets to know his materials very well before he starts a project; he does tons of research before he starts anything and then does tons of experimenting before he starts the project. In my own work I know I have to experiment with my materials (but to be honest I do not like to at all!) and I have to get to know them but Andy Goldsworthy does an immense amount of work! Kudos to him!

I would also like to point out Andy Goldsworthy's imagination. I have lots of trouble coming up with ideas for drawing and art, so I usually look for contests or others for inspiration. In the end I can come up with something on my own, but one thing I love to do is stack rocks. I have a dirt road across from my house that I take my Bernese Mountain Dog for walks on, and it's very rocky. About halfway up there is a toddler-sized rock on the side of the road. One day I decided to stack more smaller rocks on top of it and it just became a thing whenever I took my dog for a walk. Every time that I take a camera, I take one pic of the before and one pic of the after, when I re-stack or stack more rocks onto it. That was one of my main projects for this blog that was an at-home. I will hopefully post those "progress" pictures up soon. Stay posted! ~SL
